Before you turn your Threema Chat into a book, you first have to export the relevant chat from Threema.
This is a native Threema function that every Threema user has access to.
The ZIP file you exportet from Threema contains all your entire Threema chat including all messages and media files. You can then upload the ZIP file to zapptales.
We‘ll now show you how to export your chat from Threema and upload it to zapptales.
iPhone user: Open the Threema app on your smartphone and go to the chat you wish to turn into a book. Then, click on the name of your chat partner or the profile picture directly above the chat.
Android user: Open the Threema app and – in the chats overview section – press & hold the relevant chat for about 2 seconds.
Scroll down and select “Export Conversation“.

If you wish to include your media files (pictures, videos, stickers, etc.) in your zapptales book, please selevt “Include Media” in this step. Of course, you can also just export the messages without the media files. In this case, select “Without Media”.
In the next step, Threema asks you to create a password for your ZIP file. Make sure you remember this password as you will need it later on to upload your chat to zapptales 😉

Next, you have to chose the method by which you wish to export your chat. This could be via e-mail, Dropbox or Google Drive, for example. If you prefer a different share app, that’s also possible, of course.
Just make sure that you can use this path to share your ZIP file to your computer!
Almost there! Now all you have to do is localise the ZIP file on your computer (e.g. download it from Dropbox or your e-mail account) and upload it to zapptales in the next step.
Now, click on “CONTINUE” to upload your ZIP file to zapptales.
Great! You have reached the last step. Now you can upload your ZIP file to our software using your computer.

Do not unpack the ZIP file you just downloaded. If you unpack it, you won’t be able to upload it to zapptales in the next step.
